I found this video on how to control oily skin from a rather good looking guy. His skin looks quite amazing so I thought it pays to listen to what he has to say on how to control oily skin.

Make sure you do have oily skin

A lot of times, we think we have oily skin when in fact we don’t. But we then go out and buy a whole load of harsh oil stripping products thinking this is how to control oily skin, and exasperate the problem some more.

From not having oily skin, you could be stripping your face from its natural oil so much that your skin starts producing more oil to compensate for the lack of natural oil. So be careful what you do or you could create more problems for yourself.

Don’t over wash your face

Don’t over wash your face either – it is not going to help. Twice a day is ample – once in the morning and once just before bedtime. Use a gentle water soluble cleanser and give your skin time to adjust. Experts say 30 days is a about the right time to give your skin.

Now in the video this guy suggests some form of oil absorbing clear make up micro powder if you do have naturally oily skin. It’s up to you, but if you want to have a matt look that is shine free, it may be worth investigating.

It takes a bit of time and patience to learn how to control oily skin. Everyone is different and reacts differently to various products so the trick is to try and experiment to find the right product.

Effects of Laser Skin Resurfacing

(Looks terrible the first day – be warned!)

This is a 4 day video blog of someone who has gone through a laser skin resurfacing – a Fractional Ablative Erbium Laser to be precise, was what this man went through.

Looks absolutely terrible. The laser skin resurfacing has obviously just been done and the skin is looking very red, raw and sore. The Vaseline he has put on the skin to keep it moist does not help in terms of looks but is necessary to contain what the laser has done.

Day 2 and 3 of the laser skin resurfacing

The skin is looking still red and a bit raw but it already looks much better than the first day. Obviously a good moisturizing cream is needed to make sure the skin stays supple. Vitamin E supplement also helps the healing process.

Day 4 and looking (almost) normal
